Clone a workflow

A workflow can be cloned from an existing one, which is useful when you want to have multiple workflows that are nearly identical except for a few minor changes. Cloning allows you to use previous workflows as baselines for new ones.

  1. Go to Configuration > System Preferences > Workflow Configuration.
  2. Click Actions of the workflow entry that you want to clone.
  3. Select Clone. This will generate a Clone Workflow pop-up which will require several fields to be filled out in order to make a copy of the workflow.
  4. Enter a New Name.

Note: The cloned workflow must have a unique workflow name to be created properly. Otherwise, an error message appears which prevents the cloned workflow from being created.

  5. Enter a Description.

Note: Action Type and Source is read-only feilds.

  6. Click Apply when done to finish cloning the workflow.

Note: The cloned workflow does not copy the original workflow's history information. It will instead store information regarding the Clone process in its History tab.
